Three decades ago, under the auspices of Jamal Educational Society and the dynamic leadership and strategic direction provided by Mrs. Kishwar Fatima Siddiqui (Founder Principal) the foundation was laid for Woodland Secondary School. It merely started as a playgroup in 1982 and has now witnessed a dramatic transformation and evolution with forty operational classes and five hundred students currently being enrolled. Today, the school has earned credits for ranking among the most well reputed institutes in the city, equipped with modern infrastructure offering a range of facilities to effectively redress student needs.
The Woodland Secondary School is housed in an impressive building consisting of well-ventilated and airy rooms. The school’s building has been revamped and expanded with the passage of time to suit the needs of a growing infrastructure and head count. The school also has a big playground which apart from hosting major events in the school also offers students the advantage of indulging in many different sports and leisure activities without any space inhibitions.
Furthermore, the School has updated the curriculum and has recruited competent teachers that endeavour to regularly review the syllabus and integrate it with frequent updates). Considerable emphasis is placed on achieving the highest possible standards in which students learn in the most meaningful way. The personal development of each child is of paramount importance and students are encouraged to have high self-esteem and to be self-motivated. Class teachers are responsible for the overall development and progress of children.
The experienced and well versed staff members have been relentlessly and collaboratively functioning to enforce discipline and impart quality education to students. It is in fact due to this very support from our dedicated staff that quality standards have progressively improved to date. The calibre and results produced by our students are comparable to any other renowned school in the vicinity with students surpassing expectations in both studies and extracurricular activities. By the grace of God, Its students are mostly securing A-1 and A grades in the Board’s Examinations and successfully graduating to enter the threshold of professional colleges.
Since the year 1992; Computer Education has also been introduced. The school boasts of two well equipped Science labs as well as a well developed Computer Lab. Other than that a well maintained library with a plethora of books has also been set up along with an Activity Room. A proper and secure transport facility is available to students who wish to avail it. Audio-Visual facilities are used to make education more effective and interesting. An organized and hygienic Tuck Shop facility is also available in the school which provides items to the students on subsidized rates.
Students are exposed to many highly creative extracurricular experiences that enhance individual skills and foster imagination such as cooking classes, art classes etc. All students are encouraged to be involved and to discover new talents. Particular importance is placed on sports activities, and outdoor educational visits.
The students of Woodland School have recently been engaged in several extracurricular activities where they have outshined their fellow school mates from other schools and have had the privilege of representing Pakistan on a national and international level.
Since the last few years the second generation of our graduating students have boosted our pride and made our humble contribution in the field of education worthwhile. These students have been winning accolades in different spheres of their practical lives thereby giving us a reason to hold our heads high.
We are confident that with continuous support and reinforcement of its teachers and parents along with sheer determination and hard work expended by our students our school will continue to flourish and produce quality and talent second to none.
